The Brief
Transform a gray lifeless dining room into a beautiful comfortable, relaxing space for daily dining and for hosting elegant dinner parties. Combine the historic details of the room with antique art and prints and an original modern abstract piece.

Painted the room a tranquil shade of pale blue above the chair rail and a cheery white under.
Mirrored the blue and white color palette with blue and white Safavieh dining chairs and blue dupioni curtains with soft white sheers.
A vintage oriental green rug grounds the peaceful vibe.
Installed a large gold modern transitional style chandelier and recessed dimmable recessed lighting.
A new cherry wood table in a traditional style allows maximum functionality while keeping with the historic theme.
Green candlesticks, sourced from a vintage shop, pick up on the green of the rug and provide another level of lighting for a romantic dining experience.
Vintage landscape prints contrast with a piece of modern original abstract art in a blue and red color palette.
Antique dark wood sideboard and bar cabinet line the walls behind and to the back of the table.
A beautiful vintage burled wood and glass demi-lune china chest rounds out the room.
